New Year Resolution

Here’s my new year resolution, it’s simple:

take nothing for granted.

Maybe it’s a worn-out cliche,

but that doesn’t make it untrue.

Some things you have to learn from experience

and not just know

 

So kiss your children goodnight

and for a friend always make the time.

Tell your lover you love them everyday,

cause it won’t last forever.

 

And maybe when you look at your life,

you see nothing of any good worth.

And maybe your heart is all but broken,

but every one has a story to tell

and every story is worth a listen.
